Pine Creek Lake Recreation

Fishing and Hunting

Fishing is a common pursuit on Pine Creek.  The high ratio of shoreline to water provides for a strong forage base for many species of game and non-game fish.  Several common species including Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Channel and Flathead catfish occur in abundance.  Fishing on Pine Creek is in accordance with applicable State and Federal fishing regulations.

Hunting at Pine Creek is in accordance with applicable State and Federal wildlife regulations.  Unless otherwise posted, hunting is permitted in desginated areas with rifles, shotguns, handguns, primitive firearms and bows.  Generally, all project lands are open to the public for hunting except within developed recreation areas.

Please consult the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Hunting and Fishing Regulations for seasons, bag limits and methods of taking.

Boating

Pine Creek Lake has numerous underwater hazards.  Be especially watchful for submerged stumps, logs, and other obstructions.  Be on the alert for snakes during the spring, summer and fall periods.  Would you know what to do if you arrived at Pine Creek only to discover that you inadvertently left your life jacket at home or you get out to the lake to visit some friends and only then decide to go for a swim or boat ride?  Pine Creek Lake has you covered -- just stop in at either of our two gated parks (Pine Creek Cove and Little River Park) and ask them for a loaner.  Pine Creek Lake with the help of the Brittany Project and the Safe Kids Coalition have loaner life jackets available free of charge to allow you to safely continue your planned events.  The safety of our visitors is the most important aspect of our jobs.  We can't be everywhere and can't see everything.  If you observe a damaged facility or incident that may result in someone getting injured, please report it to the park attendant or park rangers. Anonymous tips can be left on our office answering machine after 4:30 p.m. daily 580-933-4239.  Please help us keep Pine Creek safe for all our visitors.

Swimming

Pine Creek has two designated swimming beaches.  These beaches are located within Pine Creek Cove and Little River Parks.  Lake visitors are discouraged from swimming beyond the buoy line as the water depth increases greatly.
