TULSA — The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract to repair hangar doors at Tinker Air Force Base to an Oklahoma company, Sept. 29.
Southwind Construction Services, LLC of Edmond, Oklahoma was awarded the $1.4 million contract.
The notice to proceed on repair activities will be issued following receipt and approval of performance and payment bonds and upon the request of the Tulsa District field office at Tinker AFB.
Tinker Air Force Base is home to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, one of the largest units in the Air Force Materiel Command. The complex performs programmed depot maintenance on the C/KC-135, B-1B, B-52 and E-3 aircraft, as well as expanded phase maintenance on U.S. Navy E-6 aircraft. The complex also performs maintenance, repair and overhaul of numerous aircraft engines for the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and U.S. Navy.
