The Tulsa District held its annual Hispanic History program Oct. 24 at the district headquarters.
The program featured guest speaker Belkis Barrera Lane, president of Lancorp Engineering and native of Venezuela.
Belkis spoke about her family, the challenges she faced when she moved to the U.S., and how the U.S. stands up against discrimination.
“This is what separates the U.S. from the rest of the world,” she said. “Yes, discrimination is bad, but the U.S. takes a stance against it.”
Jorge Rodriguez also performed traditional Hispanic songs during the program.
