Corps fights flooding in Oklahoma, Texas

The Verdigris River is an Arkansas River tributary, which flows through southeastern Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma. When flooding is imminent and as it occurs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, provides flood fight assistance, ranging from providing sandbags and technical assistance to temporary levee construction, as requested by local authorities.
