Bulkhead construction closes boat ramp at John Redmond Reservoir

Published April 28, 2012

TULSA - The east boat ramp in Dam Site public use area at John Redmond Reservoir will be closed for approximately two months while construction of a new floating bulkhead continues.

The west ramp in the park will be useable once lake levels fall to normal elevation, barring any additional rainfall.

In addition to the boat ramp, the designated construction area will be closed to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic during the work.

The park will open April 1 and campsites will be available at that time.

The closure is necessary because that area of the park is used as a staging area for construction of a new floating bulkhead. The floating bulkhead serves as a water seal and allows work areas to remain dry while maintenance is occurring to the dam structure.
