Weekly Eufaula Lake level

Published Feb. 7, 2011

TULSA, Okla. - In an effort to keep Lake Eufaula stakeholders up to date on lake conditions, the Tulsa District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, provides the following information:

Southwestern Power Administration estimates weekly generation for February 6-12, 2011 at 1,120 Mega Watt hours, approximately 2 hours per day with all three hydropower units, equivalent of 1,050 cubic feet per second discharge on average.  SWPA uses the hydropower production at Eufaula as part of a 17-lake interconnected system. Generation at Eufaula Lake is balanced with hydropower storage levels at the other hydropower lakes in the system. Current evaporation is approximately 0.04 inches per day, or 50 cfs, and there is no water quality release.

The daily power generation schedule can be found at:

http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/power/hydropower.html

Current pool elevation is 580.40 feet, 4.60 feet below top of the conservation pool elevation of 585. This level represents 70% of the conservation pool filled.

Current inflow into the lake is approximately 1,200 cubic feet per second and total outflow from the lake is approximately 5,800 cfs. Weekly forecast of the Lake Eufaula pool elevation is that it will slowly lower about 0.1 foot, absent significant precipitation during this period.
