Weekly Eufaula Lake level

Published Sept. 12, 2011

TULSA, Okla. - In an effort to keep Lake Eufaula stakeholders up to date on lake conditions, the Tulsa District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, provides the following information:

Southwestern Power Administration estimates weekly generation for September 11-17, 2011 at 1,870 Mega Watt hours, approximately 3.25 hours per day with all three hydropower units, equivalent of 1,791 cubic feet per second discharge on average. SWPA uses the hydropower production at Eufaula as part of a 17-lake interconnected system. Generation at Eufaula Lake is balanced with hydropower storage levels at the other hydropower lakes in the system. Current evaporation is approximately 0.30 inches per day, or 780 cfs, and there is no water quality release.

The daily power generation schedule can be found at:

http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/power/hydropower.html

Current pool elevation is 581.57 feet, 3.43 feet below top of the conservation pool elevation of 585. This level represents 77.3% of the conservation pool filled.

Current inflow into the lake is approximately 25 cubic feet per second and minimum total outflow from the lake is approximately 57 cfs. Weekly forecast of the Lake Eufaula pool elevation is that it will continue to slowly fall.
