USACE to conduct survey of boundaries and easements at Cleveland Levee

TULSA —The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has contracted with Continental Mapping Consultants, Inc. to conduct a survey of the Cleveland Levee in Cleveland, Okla., to identify boundaries and easements. This contract was awarded August 25, 2011 and is expected to be completed by early October.

Citizens of Cleveland should be aware that surveyors will be in the area of the levee for the purposes of this survey during September and early October.

The survey will help determine how vegetation and possible encroachments on the levee may impact structural integrity, impede access for maintenance and inspection, and/or hinder emergency flood fighting operations.

This survey uses USACE policies and standards for Dams and Levees that are consistently applied and enforced to ensure operational adequacy and public safety.
