Bailey HWY, Eufaula.  The workshop will be a come-and-go format with no formal presentation.  Participants may arrive anytime between 6 p.m to 8 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public, solicit comments, and address questions regarding the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Eufaula Lake Shoreline Management Plan and Master Plan Update.

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Eufaula Lake Shoreline Management Plan Revision and Master Plan Supplement describes the land and resource categories potentially affected by federal management actions at the Lake. The purpose of the proposed update to the Shoreline Management Plan and the Master Plan supplement is to provide for lake management that is predictable and equitable. The proposed update needs to be responsive to recreation demand and the public interest and that provide for stewardship of natural and cultural resources. This Draft Environmental Impact Statement analyzes alternatives that revise the Shoreline Management Plan and the Master Plan supplement and it reviews specific requests for zoning and for a lease of government land (Carlton Landing).

In addition, an overview of the Draft EIS, shoreline management plan and master plan update, along with other topics, will be discussed during a commander’s listening session Dec. 17 at Lake Eufaula High School at 6 p.m. This will include an open discussion. The Dec. 19 meeting will be focused only on the Draft EIS, shoreline management plan and master plan update.
