One-day closure of Lakeside Recreation Area at Lake Texoma planned for May 11

Published May 8, 2015

TULSA, Okla. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District announced today that the Lakeside Recreation Area at Lake Texoma will temporarily close Monday, May 11 beginning at 6:00 a.m. and lasting up to eight hours for work to enhance the BNSF railroad crossing over Streetman Road.

The work will temporarily shut off all vehicle access to the public recreation area. The park will remain open however there will be no travel into or out of the park during the road closure. This includes access to any park amenities including the Lakeside boat ramp.

The Corps and BNSF coordinated the road closure to occur at a time that would reduce public use impacts to the Lakeside Recreation Area. The crossing is in need of repairs and the work must occur during daylight hours. The work will involve typical railroad crossing repair and construction techniques. The scheduled restrictions are temporary but unavoidable.
