Eufaula Dam fishing area closed to vehicle access

The access road on the south side of Eufaula Dam off SH-71 is closed to vehicle traffic until further notice. The road was closed due to congestion but visitors can park in a parking area on top of the dam near the entrance to the access road.

TULSA — The access road from SH-71 to the fishing area on the south side of Eufaula Dam was closed to vehicle traffic, early morning, May 18.

Visitors can park in the lot atop the dam and walk to the fishing area along the road.

“Traffic is higher than capacity and congestion had become a problem,” said Jeff Knack, Area Manager, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. “We coordinated the road closure with Haskell County Sheriff’s Office to ensure public safety.”
