Flooding caused by rainfall at Kansas lakes in May and June has created some contract opportunities at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lakes in Kansas.

TULSA — The Tulsa District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a workshop in Wichita to promote contracting opportunities, July 29.

The event takes place at the National Center for Aviation Training auditorium at 4004 N. Webb Road from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Registration will begin at 1 p.m.

Contract opportunities at USACE lakes in Kansas are available in the following areas:

• Construction
• Mowing and landscaping
• Janitorial
• Electrical
• Equipment repair
• Tree maintenance
• Building maintenance
• Debris removal

Representatives from the USACE Small Business Office, will provide information about the available contract opportunities.

The Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center at Wichita State University will also provide information about the contracting process to potential contract bidders.

“These informational meetings are an opportunity for contractors to meet face-to-face with USACE staff to review and evaluate contract opportunities open across the area,” said Eugene Goff, operations project manager, Kansas Area Projects, Tulsa District, USACE. “The time also allows everyone to understand what work is available to bid on and what specific work the contractors can perform."
