Eufaula Record of Decision signed; moratorium lifted

TULSA – A Record of Decision has been issued by the Southwestern Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Thomas Kula, for the Eufaula Lake Environmental Impact Statement.

This decision, implements the Preferred Alternative described in the Final EIS as part of the updated Shoreline Management and Master Plan effective immediately. The Master Plan and Shoreline Management Plan regulate activities and the long term management strategy of the lake.

In addition, the Shoreline Management Use Permit moratorium that has been in place since May 2011 will be lifted effective June 17.

The Eufaula Lake Shoreline Management Plan, Applications for Shoreline Use Permits as well as guidelines for applying for these permits can be found at http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/ShorelineManagementPlans.aspx. All applications must include all required information to be considered. Applications without all required information will be considered incomplete and returned to the applicant.

Applications can be submitted by mail or in person at the Eufaula Lake Office located at 102 E. B.K. 200 Road, Stigler, OK. 74462. Approvals for new requests will take up to 90 days for processing.
