Cookson Bend swim beach reopens

Tulsa, Okla. — All U.S. Army Corps of Engineer-managed swim beaches at Lake Tenkiller are open. The Cookson Bend swim beach reopened today at noon after test results showed E. Coli levels are within acceptable ranges for swimming.

Cookson Bend’s swim beach was closed June 23 after routine testing revealed higher than acceptable levels of E. Coli.

In an earlier news release, we incorrectly reported that the Chicken Creek swim beach reopened today. The Chicken Creek swim beach, which had been closed since June 13, reopened June 23 after test results showed acceptable bacteria levels for swimming.
