TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in conjunction with the Tulsa chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) announced today the annual Meet-the-Corps Day, Feb. 12 at the Tulsa Technical Center Owasso Campus from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Meet-the-Corps Day is the District’s primary strategic engagement event for large and small business industry partners. The event will include briefings from Tulsa District staff and opportunities for Tulsa District’s business partners to engage directly with government representatives and other businesses at exhibit booths and in breakout sessions.
“Presentations from the Tulsa District staff will include contracting opportunities for this fiscal year and beyond in design, military and civil construction, environmental and civil works projects service requirements,” said Gene Snyman, Small Business Deputy for the district. “Breakout sessions will cover environmental trends and future work as well as pre-award and post-award lessons learned notes.”
Speakers include Tulsa District Commander Col. Richard Pratt, Terri Shook with the Small Business Administration, Loretta Turner with SAME and Judy Elliot with Tulsa Technical Center.
This year’s event will incorporate a virtual Veteran’s Hiring Fair in cooperation with the Veteran’s Administration Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Office. The idea is to match qualified veterans with the needs of businesses.
Additionally, there will be a special recognition of Vietnam Era Veterans and Tulsa District’s role as a commemorative partner in the Department of Defense 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration.
