TD 2017-9 Notice of "Small Crafts"

USE CAUTION WHEN TRANSITING NM 436.6 to NM 444.8

McCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM, OKLAHOMA

The University of Tulsa Women's Rowing Fall Invitational Regatta will have rowing teams on the navigation channel 3 & 4 November 2017 between NM436.6 and the Head of Navigation at NM444.8.  Launch times are scheduled Friday November 3 from 1500 to 1800 and Saturday November 4 from 0700 to 1000. 

Throughout the racing event a large number of small craft may be in a concentrated area within the navigation channel.  Approximate location of the course is between NM442 (just below I-40 Bridge) and NM444.2 (just below Hwy 66 Bridge). Safety Launches monitor channel 16 closely for barge traffic moving into the area and suspend racing anytime a tow is visible, all rowing crews move to the shore and wait for the vessel to pass safely. 

Mariners are advised to use extreme caution when transiting this area during the event.
