REDUCTION IN POOL ELEVATION

WEBBERS FALLS L&D No. 16

McCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM, OKLAHOMA

There is a high probability Webbers Falls L&D No. 16 will experience a pool elevation reduction early August 2019.  Obstructions from barge impacts prevent the complete closure of multiple spillway gates.  Extended high river flows and shoaling have hampered mobilization for barge removal and salvage.  All involved parties are actively pursuing salvage operations.  Impacts of the reduction of the Webbers pool elevation are unknown at this time.

The Corps of Engineers is continuing to collect data and this Navigation Notice will be updated as more information becomes available.

Waterway users are asked to check with Lock No. 16 for the latest information.  Questions or request for additional information concerning this notice should be directed to Mr. Kenneth Todd: 918-775-4475 ext 5819, Mr. Robert Steiner; Navigation Operation Manager:  918-775-4475 ext 5833 or Mr. Vic Heister; Navigation Field Engineer:  918-669-7244.
