Notice of Damage and Potential Hazard: Upstream Guardwall Armor

Chouteau L&D No. 18, NM 401.4

The upstream guardwall is damaged near the miter gate recess.  The steel amor plate protecting the corner has been damaged and it had to be removed,  The concrete is now fully exposed.  Until the repair can be made, Mariners should use caution when transitioning in this area.  Mariners are advised to stay to the guide wall side on the upstream portion of the lock until further notice when the area can be repaired.  Waterway user are asked to check with Lock No. 17 for the latest information.  Questions or request for additional information concerning this notice should be directed to Mr. Brad Johnson; Navigation Manager: 918-550-9026 or Mr. Jake Simpson; Navigation Engineer: 918-430-4783.


Recreational Lockage Policy

Locking at 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 on the Oklahoma portion of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System is available to recreational boaters 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
