Kaw Lake News and Notices

Pioneer Park Boat Ramp Notice

Due to recent improvements to the area such as asphalt work, rip/rap shoulder protection, a new CXT vault restroom, and so on.  Starting 1 MARCH, 2024 Kaw Lake will begin charging our standard day use fee at Pioneer boat ramp, same as all other USACE managed boat ramps at Kaw Lake that we operate and maintain. This will be a daily launch fee of $5.00, or annual passes are also available to cover all fees.  Signs will be posted in the coming weeks with instructions on how visitors can make their payments.

Bear Creek Boat Ramp

The boat ramp in Bear Creek is only usable when the elevation of the lake is 8 feet above normal pool.

Kaw Lake Needs Your Help!

The Kaw Lake team is dedicated to providing a quality outdoor recreation experience to our customers. Federal budget constraints make operating Kaw Lake Recreation Areas more difficult each year. We need your help! Volunteer services make our mission possible. The Kaw Lake Office is currently accepting applications for volunteers. Volunteers may be given  a full hookup campsite in exchange for volunteer hours worked during the week. To become a volunteer at Kaw Lake, please contact the Kaw lake Project Office at 580-762-5611 and request an application.

Volunteers don't just do the work - they make it work!
