— Due to heavy rainfall in the area Tenkiller Lake flood pool is expected to reach near full and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is releasing water from Tenkiller Lake at 13,000 cubic feet per second through the main spillway gates and hydropower.
These releases will bring the downstream channel to full capacity. The water is not expected to rise above the channel.
If additional rain occurs and the flood control pool reaches full capacity, greater releases from Tenkiller Dam may be necessary. These could have potential impacts to residents downstream of the dam.
Corps personnel will closely monitor the lake around the clock. Individuals downstream of the dam should follow guidance from local emergency officials should releases from the dam become necessary.
All Corps operated recreational parks and boat ramps at Tenkiller Lake are closed until further notice.
