2026 SWT District NWP Reissuance Final Action
On January 8, 2026, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published a final action in the Federal Register (91 FR 768) announcing the reissuance of 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and one new NWP, as well as the reissuance of NWP general conditions and definitions with some modifications. These 57 NWPs will go into effect on March 15, 2026, and will expire on March 15, 2031. One NWP was not reissued.

The Corps proposes to discharge dredged material into waters of the United States associated with the routine maintenance dredging of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in an area adjacent to the navigation channel between RM 373.5 and 375.5 when upland disposal is not practicable in order to adequately maintain channel depths for navigation during periods of low flow.

One-day closure of Lakeside Recreation Area at Lake Texoma planned for May 11
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District announced today that the Lakeside Recreation Area at Lake Texoma will temporarily close Monday, May 11 beginning at 6:00 a.m. and lasting up to eight hours for work to enhance the BNSF railroad crossing over Streetman Road.

Corps to provide update on Skiatook Lake operational changes at public meeting
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, will host a public meeting at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 27th to provide citizens with an update on the operational changes that were made at Skiatook Lake in March. The meeting will be held in the Hospitality Suite of the Brooks Walton Activity Center, 1000 West 4th Street, in Skiatook.

The Broken Bow powerhouse is offline for repair work. During this time, flood releases will be generated from the flood gates into the trout stream below.

Two western Skiatook boat ramps to temporarily close
The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today the temporary closure of two boat ramps and the placement of new buoys on the west end of Skiatook Lake at Twin Points and Hominy Landing recreation areas due to low water levels brought on by the continuing drought.

Roadway over Pine Creek Dam to close for repairs
The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the roadway across the Pine Creek Dam embankment, Tommy Taylor Trail, will close to traffic at 8:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 for modification of the dam and outlet works. The bridge will reopen approximately May 2016.
