Tulsa District Regulatory Permits for Public Comment

PURPOSE:  The purpose of these public notices are to inform you of a proposal for work in which you might be interested and to solicit your comments and information to better enable us to make a reasonable decision on factors affecting the public interest in relation to Section 10 and Section 404.

SECTION 10: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is directed by Congress through Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 USC 403) to regulate all work or structures in or affecting the course, condition, or capacity of navigable waters of the United States.  The intent of this law is to protect the navigable capacity of waters important to interstate commerce.

SECTION 404: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is directed by Congress through Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1344) to regulate the discharges of dredged and fill material into all waters of the United States.  These waters include lakes, rivers, streams, mudflats, sandflats, sloughs, wet meadows, natural ponds, and wetlands adjacent to other waters.  The intent of the law is to protect these waters from the indiscriminate discharge of material capable of causing pollution and to restore and maintain their chemical, physical, and biological integrity.

    Expiration date: 5/17/2016

    The application is for the placement of 65,610 cubic yards (cys) of fill material associated with the construction of South Tulsa/Jenks Low Water Dam (LWD) project and appurtenant features into the Arkansas River to facilitate a new static pool and pedestrian bridge. The proposal would also result in the construction of 7 public access features and 8 site-specific shoreline stabilization projects.

  • SWT-2012-254

    Expiration date: 3/18/2016

    The application is for the placement of fill material for a bank stabilization project and to replace structurally deficient reinforced concrete box (RCB) bridge. The project also involves the replacement of water and sewer relocation as required for the new RCB structure.

  • SWT-2016-039

    Expiration date: 3/11/2016

    The application is for the placement of fill material related to the proposed replacement of the Mud Creek Bridge, east and west Mud Creek overflow bridges, and associated approaches on State Highway 32 (SH-32) in Love County, Oklahoma.

  • SWT-2012-93

    Expiration date: 1/16/2016

    The application is for the placement of fill material to raise the county road in order to provide protection up to the 25-year flood event. The project also involves the construction of a new bridge and two reinforced concrete boxes. The road realignment project would eliminate a dangerous curve, improve traffic flow, and increase safety for motorists.

  • SWT-2015-319

    Expiration date: 12/17/2015

    The application is for the placement of 3.35 acres of fill into waters of the United States associated with the construction of a shipping facility, including access drives, employee and fleet parking lots, detention basin, sanitary sewer utility, and perimeter drainage swales.
