  1. Tulsa District to close bridge over Kaw Dam; flood operations, recreation not affected

    In the interest of public safety, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District will close both lanes of the bridge over Kaw Dam, near Ponca City, Okla., at noon Nov. 7. Motorists should use U.S. Route 60 as a detour. The closure will not affect flood operations or affect recreation areas.

  2. Tulsa District awards Final FY 2025 contract with Webbers Falls gate replacement, repair agreement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District awarded its final contract of Fiscal Year 2025, a construction contract to replace and repair tainter gates at Webbers Falls Lock and Dam 16 in Webbers Falls, Okla., Sept. 30. The Tulsa District awarded the $28 million contract to McMillen Incorporated of Boise, Idaho. The contract calls for replacement of Gate 7 and repairs to Tainter Gate 8 and Tainter Gate 11.

Draft Environmental Assessment water transmission pipeline in Yukon, Oklahoma

TO INTERESTED PARTIES

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Regional Planning and Environmental Center, in coordination with the City of Yukon, Oklahoma, has assessed the environmental impacts associated with the proposed construction of 1.35 miles of 12” water transmission pipeline, a water storage tank facility, and the replacement of sanitary sewer lines within the City of Yukon, Canadian County, Oklahoma.  The project purpose is to improve the existing City of Yukon water supply distribution system to meet current and future demand, and to replace aging infrastructure in a 40-year old residential development.  This is a Water Resource Development Authority Section 219 (Environmental Infrastructure) Project, which was authorized in the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2001 in Section 108.  The City of Yukon, Oklahoma is the local sponsor for this proposed project.

The Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for this action is available at the Mabel C. Fry Public Library, 1200 Lakeshore Drive, Yukon, Oklahoma  73099; and has been posted on the Tulsa District website at: http://www.swt.usace.army.mil/ at the NEPA Notices icon midway down the page.  By this letter, we are requesting your comments on the Draft Environmental Assessment.  In order to be considered, comments must be received no later than 30 days from the receipt of this letter.

This environmental assessment was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended, including guidelines in 33 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 230, Policy and Procedures for Implementing NEPA.  It has been determined from the referenced environmental assessment that the project will have no significant adverse impact on the natural or human environment.
