  • MKARNS parks open for 2014 recreation season

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District announced that Corps-operated campgrounds along the Oklahoma portion of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System that were closed for the 2013 recreation season will be open for the 2014 season.

    The Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers advises visitors to Lake Texoma of the impact an extreme drought is having on the lake level. The current water level is several feet below normal and the Corps urges boaters to be vigilant when on the water. There is water for boating and other activities.
  • Lake Texoma experiencing negative impacts of long-term drought

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District (USACE) and The Southwestern Power Administration (SWPA) acknowledge the negative impacts associated with reduced water levels at Lake Texoma. Hydropower and municipal and industrial water supply usage contribute to the lower level, but remain critical in meeting electricity and water needs.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District announced today that some Corps-operated campgrounds along the Oklahoma portion of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System are to reopen no later than Nov. 22, 2013.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District announced today that the pool elevation of Lake Texoma has dropped to 612 feet, entering the lake into Drought Level 2 of the District’s Drought Contingency Plan.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory Offices due to federal government shutdown

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Tulsa District today announced it will close its Regulatory offices due to the absence of available federal funding. Regulatory offices will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCNs) for nationwide permit (NWP) or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.
