Tulsa District Regulatory Permits for Public Comment

PURPOSE:  The purpose of these public notices are to inform you of a proposal for work in which you might be interested and to solicit your comments and information to better enable us to make a reasonable decision on factors affecting the public interest.

SECTION 10: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is directed by Congress through Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 USC 403) to regulate all work or structures in or affecting the course, condition, or capacity of navigable waters of the United States.  The intent of this law is to protect the navigable capacity of waters important to interstate commerce.

SECTION 404: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is directed by Congress through Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1344) to regulate the discharges of dredged and fill material into all waters of the United States.  These waters include lakes, rivers, streams, mudflats, sandflats, sloughs, wet meadows, natural ponds, and wetlands adjacent to other waters.  The intent of the law is to protect these waters from the indiscriminate discharge of material capable of causing pollution and to restore and maintain their chemical, physical, and biological integrity.

  • SWT-2010-583

    Expiration date: 7/25/2018

    The application is for an After-the-Fact Permit for the unauthorized discharge of fill material into Sycamore Creek to facilitate the construction of a dam, including a principle and emergency spillway, resulting in the creation of Halter Lake.

  • SWT-2016-339

    Expiration date: 7/25/2018

    The applicant is applying for an After-the-Fact Permit. The applicant has placed approximately 59 cubic yards of fill material in 350 linear feet of stream to impound water over 1,054 linear feet of stream to form a 7.05-surface acre pond. The proposed project includes construction of an earthen dam approximately 500 feet in length.

    Expiration date: 5/18/2018

    The application is for the placement of fill material related to the proposed replacement of Willis Bridge on SH 99 over Lake Texoma.

  • GP-17 for Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) bridge projects in the State of Oklahoma, excluding Critical Resource Waters

    Expiration date: 5/16/2018

    Work authorized by the proposed GP would be limited to discharges of dredge or fill material into waters of the United States for activities required for the construction, expansion, modification, or improvement of bridge replacement projects (e.g., roads, highways, railways) in waters of the United States, including adjacent wetlands. Bridges authorized by this GP would be subject to the requirements of the enclosed GP 17.

  • SWT-2017-507

    Expiration date: 3/22/2018

    The application is for the placement of fill material related to the proposed construction of six bendway weirs and a directional spur upstream of the existing US 62 bridge over the North Canadian River. Severe recent erosion is threatening the bridge. The current course of the channel has severe erosion occurring on the northeast banks extending east (downstream) towards US 62 while developing a depositional sandbar to the southwest.
